I was born in Kiev, Ukraine where buckwheat, orgretchka, was a diet staple used in many of my family’s meals. As a busy Brooklyn mom of two energetic kids, I strive for the best nutrition to keep them (and me) going all day long. But, when pressed for time, it was hard to find portable snacks that weren’t full of junk and loaded with sugar. I was using buckwheat in my cooking and I realized that it’s versatility and nutritional benefits were mostly unknown. That’s what motivated me to start my company – BuckWHAT! - to share buckwheat’s great taste and myriad benefits with others.
